Festa da Nossa Senhora do Monte
“Festa de Nossa Senhora do Monte” (Our Lady of Monte Celebration) is one of the biggest festivals in Madeira Island, taking place on August 14th and 15th, attracting thousands of devotees. In this popular festival of the patron saint of Madeira Island, Monte is adorned with traditional flower lanes, food and drink stalls where you can taste the traditional sweets, beef “espetada”, regional drinks and dough puppets.
