Beaches and Bathing Complexes

The Ponta Gorda complex, also known as Poças do Governador, is located in one of the city’s most charismatic areas. Its proximity to the Passeio Público Marítimo means it attracts a large number of visitors every day, whether they are residents or tourists.

It has saltwater swimming pools, for both adults and children, children’s play equipment, a solarium area with a total of 690 m², direct access to the sea and a children’s playground.

Throughout the whole year the bathing complex provides a bar, kids club, WiFi, bathrooms, first aid station and surveillance.

In one of the adult pools, a lift allows users with reduced mobility to have easier access to it.

This complex has been awarded “Accessible Beach, Beach for All” since 2010 and has been awarded as well with the Blue Flag.
