Madeira Wine Festival
An event, which pays tribute to the magnificent nectar, seeking to recall the secular traditions and habits of wine production in the region.
The central square of Avenida Arriaga is filled with animation and numerous decorations alluding to the theme of wine, from barrels, casks and harvesting baskets, to living pictures and people dressed up for the occasion. The ancient customs of the art of wine-making are recreated, such as the treading of the grapes, among other elements that make us appreciate the imaginary allied to wine production.
In the stalls, decorated accordingly, you can taste some typical products of the region. There is no shortage of music either, with bands or folklore groups performing in the town.
Do not forget to taste the local wines at the various exhibitions and tastings held during the week and take the opportunity to appreciate the regional handicraft exhibition.
