Its construction dates back to the 15th century, and although it is quite adulterated, it is one of the few Rococo buildings that have survived to the present day. It was built as a result of the devotion of the fishermen of the Old Town, in honour of S. Pedro Gonçalves Telmo, patron saint of fishermen, and it came to serve as an infirmary for the local fishermen and their families.

It has a Gothic Mannerist architecture and, inside, can be highlighted the paintings in the chancel, which depict the life of the saint.
