São Paulo Chapel
Founded by the discoverer João Gonçalves Zarco, estimated in 1426, it was the second chapel built on the island and the first built in stone and lime.
Rebuilt in 1871, it came to our days maintaining its Gothic features and Mudéjar ceilings dating from the early sixteenth century.
Inside we find an altarpiece in Mannerist gilded woodcarving, baptismal font and a triptych of St Peter, St Paul and St Andran.
