Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre
Throughout the 19th century, Funchal fought for the construction of a theatre, just like great European cities, to serve as the stage for the city’s main cultural events.
Since its official opening on March 11th 1888, the Baltazar Dias Theatre has promoted a series of artistic events, including theatre, cinema, music and dance, among others, thus becoming a reference in the Madeiran cultural panorama.

Guided Tours
The Theatre is available to receive visitors, with a tour full of history and references about its architecture. Travelling through its interior, showing important spaces that are not seen by the public in normal situations.
