Monte Palace Tropical Garden
The Monte Palace Tropical Garden, owned by the José Berardo Foundation, stands out especially for its indigenous Madeiran flora, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1999.
Throughout the garden, it is possible to observe centenary trees and one of the largest collections of cycads of African and Japanese origin. It has been growing due to the introduction of plants from various parts of the world.
It is worth mentioning that the Monte Palace Museum has two permanent exhibitions divided into three galleries with separate entrances: the “African Passion” exhibition and the “Secrets of Mother Nature” exhibition.
