Herbs and Medicinal Plants Garden
This garden was designed for educational and leisure purposes, located in the interior space between the Natural History Museum and the Frederico de Freitas Museum. It opened to the public on the 5th of June 2000, on World Environment Day. It is a very pleasant place, where visitors have the possibility to get to know several aromatic and medicinal species. In addition to these, tree species native to the region can also be seen, such as a remarkable tilde tree (Ocotea foetens) and a stunning dragon tree (Dracaena draco ssp. draco). Throughout the year, many visitors, both locals and foreigners, come here to delight themselves with the aromas, textures and colours that this small nook offers.
